Garmisch
Garmisch is in the mountains in southern Germany, south of Munich, right across from the Austrian border and in the Alpine region.  It is absolutely magnificent down there.  Germany's tallest mountain, the Zugspitz was in view from our cabin.

The tallest mountain in Germany...
Zugspitz.
It's 2.962 meters high.

Just like in those old commercials,
the cows really have bells around their necks.

Yo, was dat?
I don know, ain't it one of dem horse dings?
(Yeesh, city slickers)

This is the Hollental Gorge.

In some places the gorge was a beautiful shade of blue.

But don't let the blue water trick you
into thinking it's warm.

Paul can tell you just how freezing it is.

After all, all that water is metled ice and
snow from the top of the mountains.

Both times I went to Garmisch I ate at this
restaraunt in Oberammergau, the Hotel Alte Bort.
They have awesome potato pancakes and great venison.

Most of the buildings in Oberammergau are painted like this.
Some have Christian scenes and some have fairy tale scenes.
