What you doing?

This morning while I was playing with Paulchen, he said, "What you doing Cat?"  I looked around me or a book with a picture of a cat and couldn't find anything.  Then I realized he was probably calling me by my nickname.  I asked him what he said and he repeated it.  I had a good laugh and gently changed it to Mummy.  Then he said it properly.

I went to tell Paul what his son said and ask him if he set me up.  Paul was clueless and thought it was funny.  Then Paulchen came in and looked at his father.  I crossed my fingers that he would say "What you doing Paul?"  What he said made me burst out and laugh.  "What you doing Tiger?"  Paul was shocked.  He swore I told our son to say that, but I didn't.  He used his Da's nickname.  It was hilarious.

Bucket Ride

Paulchen and Ava have found a new way to occupy themselves at work.  Paulchen was annoying me as he pushed a mop bucket around the store and Ava was annying me with the fact that I could not put her down without her whining.  Finally I had an idea.  I had Paulchen bring the bucket over and placed Ava in it.

Now every time we go to work, Paulchen brings the bucket over and says "Down Ava."  I place Ava in the bucket and he pushes her all around the building.  It's really cute and they both have a lot of fun.

Walking the Lonely Road

Well, maybe not so lonely.  As usual, Ava stood up and was holding on to the furniture to move around.  She'd been pushing Paulchen's castle and chair to get around the apartment today.  For giggles, I asked her to come over to me.  I knew what would happen.  She'd stand for a moment or two, then get down on hands and knees and crawl to me, taking the easy way out.

Instead, she took three steps and fell.  I was practically screaming with delight and calling Paul.  He ran out and she took some steps for him as well.  We were so excited, she became overly excited as well.  We are so proud of our little girl.

Wash the Hair
Well, it seems Paulchen felt a little guilty for messing up his sister's hair with the glitter yesterday.  this mornig he decided to wash it.  I walked into the living room and found a few small splotches of white goo on the floor.  I eventually found the bottle of hair conditioner.  Then I noticed Ava's hair was matted down and thick.  one sniff told me where more conditioner had gone.  Well, at least this only took a rinse to clean up.

Glitter Girl

I went to work today with the children.  We had a large order come into the store and I wanted to place everything on the shelves.  I was inventorying and pricing with Sarah, when I decided to peak in on the children.  They were behind the craft counter, playing.  As I rounded the corner, my breath sucked in VERY audibly.  Sarah heard me and came over to check.  She had a similar reaction.

Ava was sitting on the floor and Paulchen was standing behind her.  He had the green glitter and was shaking it all over her.  SHE WAS COVERED!  He was promptly slapped on the hand and I took her outside to shake off the glitter.  Clouds of it poofed from her outfit and hair and she was STILL covered in glitter.  I tried to rinse it out of her hair in the sink at work, but to no avail.  When we came home I finally treated it like cradle cap; oiling her hair and combing.  I repeated this process numerous times and washed her hair.  I was able to get most of the glitter out.  The rest however will just come out over time.

As much of a pain as the glitter was; I hate glitter, always have, Ava was SO adorable!  Her hair and face were covered in green glitter.  She really did look like a little pixie or fairy.  It was one of those times I seriously regretted not having my camera.  if glitter weren't such a pain in the rear, I would almost consider covering her again just for a photo.  Oh well.
